What We Do in Our Community:
Founded in 1955, the Clyde Malone Community Center is one of Lincoln’s most trusted and historic community-based organizations, dedicated to ending multigenerational poverty and advancing equity through education, advocacy, and culturally responsive services. Each year, Malone serves more than 1,200 children, youth, and families through programs that strengthen educational achievement, health and wellness, family stability, and community engagement.
Malone’s education and youth development programs support children from their earliest years through adolescence, helping them build confidence and reach their full potential. Through high-quality early childhood education, after-school enrichment, academic support, mentoring, and culturally rooted leadership programs, Malone ensures young people have safe, uplifting environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive.
The organization also provides essential health and wellness services that address community needs and reduce longstanding disparities. Its Maternal Wellness program offers culturally responsive support for mothers and infants, while additional initiatives promote mental health, access to healthcare, and overall family well-being. These efforts create stronger households and equip families with the tools they need to navigate life with stability and resilience.
Beyond education, leadership and wellness, Malone strives to strengthen community connection and cultural pride. Through athletics, neighborhood-based supports, and partnerships across Lincoln, Malone brings people together and ensures families have access to meaningful opportunities.
What We Are Currently Working On:
Malone is currently working on several major initiatives that will shape the future of our organization and the community. The largest effort is the construction of a new 54,000-square-foot facility that will house expanded classrooms, dedicated youth spaces, a technology lab, a commercial kitchen, and upgraded areas for athletics, wellness, and community gatherings. This new center will bring all programs under one roof and increase capacity to serve more children, youth, and families.
While the new building is underway, Malone continues to operate seamlessly across five temporary locations throughout Lincoln and ensures all programs continue running smoothly and without interruption.
